EFO Has released 2 new battery powered true AC waveform proving units Our proving units provide a safe and reliable means of checking the correct functioning of Multimeters and two pole voltage indicators before and after use as advised in the safe working practice for electricians. Additionally they have the capability of checking the Operation of Non-Contact voltage detectors.
There will always be situations where electricians are required to “prove for dead” to determine it is safe to proceed to work on circuits, plant, machinery or switchboards. Electrical Factory Outlet offers two models of proving units, The PU400 incorporates an intelligent ramp that have five steps 50V,100V,230V,400V and 690VAC. This is the preferred model for 2 pole testers, which have a number of LED indicating lights that will indicate as the PU400 ramps up the voltage. For multimeters the PU240 model generates a constant stable 240VAC source. In addition, both models of proving units can also test non-contact type voltage detectors. Positing the detecting tip to the area indicated on the front panel and pressing the “push for volt detector test” button to check for correct operation of the voltage detector. To reprove move the detecting tip away from the volt tip area and then retest.
