Electrical Safety Cabinet for EV Maintenance
The electrical safety cabinet for EV Maintenance has been developed and built by EFO to enable safe working for Trained and Certified Mechanics and Technicians who perform service and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles.
The dust and water resistant cabinet has been designed to be wall mounted and easily accessible. The contents are based on many of the requirements of AS 5732:2015 Electric Vehicle Operations Maintenance and Repair.
With the increasing number of hybrid and electric vehicles on the road. Importantly there is a requirement for workshops to meet professional and safety standards. EFO has developed a range of tools and equipment to ensure the safety of technicians working on these vehicles.
Unquestionably there are new and inherent risks associated with the maintenance and repair of Electric Vesicles. In contrast to conventional vehicles, such as:
Short circuits creating explosions and also fires.
Exposed connections and the presence of high voltage cable which has the potential for electric shock, resulting in serious death or injury.
Components that may retain a dangerous voltage even when a vehicle is switched off.
Harmful gases and liquids released when batteries are damaged.
Vehicles silently moving and people not aware.
Components that may move unexpectedly due to magnetic forces.
