protect the face, eyes, neck and ears from arc flash heat, flying
molten metal and UV/IR radiation in the event of an arc flash incident.

The best way to remove the hazards of an arc flash is to de-energise
electrical equipment before interacting with it. However, de-energising
electrical equipment can itself present an arc flash hazard.

Arc flash face shields should always be worn together with the correct
